Teradata 12 Certification Study Guide – Basics
Correction #1:
Chapter 3 – Practice questions are as follows:
#5 should be A not C
#6 should be C not A
Status: Corrected in 2nd printing

Correction #2:
Chapter 5 – Typo on Page 79:
Line #5 should be “each lock varies in its abilities and priorities” not “each lock varies in it abilities and priorities”
Status: Corrected in 2nd printing

Correction #3:
Chapter 7 – Stored Procedure in Figure 7.6 is incorrect. It should be:
CREATE PROCEDURE DeleteCustomer (IN inCust INTEGER, OUT msg VARCHAR(20)) BEGIN
DELETE FROM customer WHERE cust_id = :inCust; SET msg = ‘Delete Completed’; END;

Stored Procedure call in Figure 7.7 is incorrect. It should be:
CALL DeleteCustomer (100, msg);
CALL DeleteCustomer (200, msg);

Correction #4:
Chapter 9 – Typo on Page 134:
TDWM description “Manager and monitor workload strategies” should read “Manages and monitors workload strategies”
Status: Corrected in 2nd printing

Correction #5:
Chapter 9 – Practice Question #3:
Question should read as:
“Which of the following items can be tracked by the Database Query Log (DBQL) (Choose all that apply)?”

Answer B reads:

It should read:

Correction #2:
Practice question 33:
Answer A is in fact part of the question. So, the question should read:

Additionally, answer A should be removed from the list.
